POLICY UPDATES FOR 2025-26

MANDATORY SWIM SUIT FEE FOR 2025-26

Mandatory Swim Suit Fee for Competitive Swim Teams (does not include Shark School & Swim Up): Each new enrollment (annually) will require a swimsuit fee. The fee is $85 and can be paid monthly or in full. The PFL Aquatic swimsuits will change periodically. Each swimmer is required to wear branded swimwear to consistently represent PFL Aquatics at swim meets. If you wish to opt out, there is an opt out fee of $100. You will still be responsible for providing a swim suit with PFL Aquatic branding. This fee also provides additional funding for the academy and swimmers since there are no fundraising requirements.

KATY ISD FACILITY USAGE FEES FOR 2025-26

As PFL Aquatics negotiates and anticipates all budget-impacting expenses, participants are given notice that if Katy Independent School District (K.I.S.D.) increases facilities rental rates, a facilities fee line will be added to the balance.

WITHDRAWAL & MEDICAL SUSPENSION POLICY

Families wishing to withdraw from the program or suspend an account due to medical situations, must submit the PFL Withdrawal Form. This form must be submitted and received 10 days prior to the next billing cycle (15th of each month) to avoid being charged tuition for the upcoming month. A swimmer is not considered suspended or withdrawn from the program until the form has been received and verified. Suspensions - Medical only. Please provide a doctor's excuse with the form. Tuition will still be paid while the swimmer is suspended at a 50% rate for 30 days and then 100% there after. Tuition payments hold the swimmers enrollment in the program. Withdrawal from Program - no tuition or enrollment fee refunds. There is a $95 fee charged to your account once the withdrawal form is received.

LATE TUITION FEE POLICY

Tuition Payments - Tuition payments are submitted to the credit card in your account on the 15th of each month for the current month. In the event the credit card on file does not authorize the payment, the system will send you an email to check your account. The system will make 3 attempts to collect the payment. Tuition Late Fee & “No Swim” Policy - If the tuition payment is not successfully authorized within 72 hours of the first billing attempt, a late fee of $50 will be applied to the account for that month. The swimmer will not be allowed to participate in any practices or events until the payment is made and the account is in good standing.

Storm Policy

Taylor High School and Mayde Creek High School  Power Aquatics rents from Katy ISD, therefore, we follow Katy-ISD rules and policies. The policy is specific regarding pool usage when there is lightning in the area. Swimmers are not permitted in the pool area during a lightning storm and must stay out of the pool area for 30 minutes after the last roll of thunder. Even though indoor facilities run by other ISD’s and organizations do not clear their pools, we will follow this policy in our continued regard for swimmers’ safety and our ability to utilize the pool from Katy- ISD.  What does this mean regarding practice cancellations?  If we are already swimming: We will get the swimmers out as soon as we are aware there is lightning in the area, or if we are asked by KISD staff to remove the swimmers from the pool. Depending upon the duration of the storm, and how much time is remaining in practice, we may end up cancelling the remainder of the practice. Parents will get a text from REMIND to let them know that their swimmers are ready for pick-up. Swimmers who are remaining with the coaches waiting for pick-up will be given dry-land exercises in the entrance rotunda while waiting for their parents. Swimmers will remain in safety, in the rotunda until parents drive up to pick them up. We strongly encourage parents to return to the pool as soon as possible so that coaches can get on the road to get out of the storm for their safety.  If practice has not yet started:  If storms are forecast, Coach Sharon will check the Weather Channel for updates and make the best guess depending upon their forecasts and radar whether practice will be held, delayed or cancelled altogether. Coach Sharon does not claim to be a meteorologist, and will rely on TWC website for information. She will do her best to make the call 30 minutes before the commencement of practice if we will cancel. Parents will receive a REMIND text if we are cancelling practice; the team manager will also follow up with an email and if time permits, put the cancellation on the front page of the website.   Like every coach in America, and out of respect of providing value for money, we will hold practice if it is at all feasible. Naturally we will wait until the last possible minute to make that call. If the weather is iffy, parents are encouraged to make their own decision whether to get on the road to travel to the pool. Swimmers who are a few minutes late because parents decided to wait before leaving out of caution will still be welcomed to practice! We certainly do not encourage parents to take risks by driving in bad weather to get to practice. If you live in the Katy area and there is a storm brewing at the beginning of practice, because of the additional 30 minute delay required for safety, then practice will likely be cancelled. Safety of or swimmers, their families and our staff is always the primary concern and will always be the first and last consideration when deciding whether to run or cancel practice.

MAAPP - Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy

USA Swimming's top priority continues to be keeping its athletes safe. No form of abuse, including child sexual abuse, has a place in our sport. The Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) addresses one-on-one interactions, social media and electronic communications, travel: local and team, locker rooms and changing areas and massages, rubdowns and athletic training modalities. Every USA Swimming club, Zone and LSC is required to implement the MAAPP in full. Power Aquatics/Power for Life is committed to implementing these policies in full.
