
Power for Life (PFL)
Competitive Team
Power for Life Competitive Team has 6 team levels based on the age of the swimmer. All swimmers must tryout for competitive teams. Must register with USA Swim - Premium Membership.

Thunder I - Elite Group - Registration Fee: $275 | Monthly Fee: $320
Thunder I is a competition based group for swimmers ages 15 and up who have achieved outstanding performance and dedication to USA Swimming.
Qualifications include:

Aim to qualify for National level meets

Sectionals Qualifier & Achieve qualifying T-30 results
-
Demonstrated dedication to USA swimming
-
Must attend USA meets throughout the year & maintain seasonal IMX score

5 practices per week
-
May not participate in summer league as an athlete
Thunder II - Registration Fee: $275 | Monthly Fee: $310
Thunder II is a competition based group for swimmers ages 14 and up.
Qualifications include:

Placed by the Head Coach

Must attend at least 2 USA meets per season (short course & long course) -- 4 total per year)​

IMX score encouraged

Thunder III is a competition based group for swimmers ages 13 and 14.

Lightning I - Registration Fee: $275 | Monthly Fee: $310
Lightning I is a competition base group for swimmers between the ages of 9 and 12.
Qualifications:

Ages 11-12 with IMX score

Must attend at least 2 USA meets per season (short course & long course) -- 4 total per year

Focus on technique in an atmosphere that promotes learning and fun

Lightning II - Registration Fee: $275 | Monthly Fee: $297
Qualifications:

Rain - Registration Fee: $275 | Monthly Fee: $260
Rain is for school aged children up to age 8 ready for a competitive environment.
Training is age appropriate and fun, however, swimmers must be disciplined enough to participate in structured swim training.
Qualifications:

Swimmers are expected to participate in USA meets.

Shark School &
Swim Up
This program has a fun environment with age appropriate drills to encourage skill development. Some drills may look like play time, but all have a purpose in developing competencies. Participants will learn all four competition strokes plus legal starts, pullouts, and turns. Individual Medley concepts will be introduced. There is no attendance at meets. All swimmers must tryout, this is not a "learn to swim" program.

Shark School requires a USA Swimming - Flex Membership.
​Shark School - Registration Fee: $150 | Monthly Fee: $90

Shark School is an entry level, non-competitive program for swimmers up to age 12. Its goal is to prepare the swimmers for the PFL competitive team.

This is not a learn to swim program. All swimmers must be able to complete two lengths of the pool in freestyle and one other stroke of choice.
Shark School Details - GOAL: Move to competitive team when ready!

Practices on Monday and Wednesday evenings - 6:05 PM to 6:45 PM or 6:50 PM to 7:30 PM

6 practices per month guaranteed

​School year only; switch to Stroke Clinics in the summer months

Swimmers are grouped by ability and will progress through three levels as they demonstrate key competencies
SHARK SCHOOL SWIM UP - Registration Fee: $150 | Monthly fee is $150

Swim Up is an advanced Academy program designed for swimmers who have nearly mastered the skills needed to move to the competitive team.

Practices focus on fine-tuning technique, building endurance, and learning the basics of drills.

Placement requires a coach's recommendation.

Practices are Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:15 PM to 6:00 PM during the school year.
MOVING UP TO PFL
-
Swimmers who have passed all three levels of Shark School and who can complete a 100 yd IM legally, including starts and turns may be invited
to join the competitive team. Final decision on placement is at the discretion of the Head Coach. -
Swimmers can be moved up throughout the year, but primarily in October, January, and April.
